On Tuesday 27th April 2018, Ginette Gervais-MacWilliam and Joelle Fabre represented the Perth Branch of the Franco-Scottish Society during a short ceremony at the Loch Leven Community Campus, for this year’s Alexander Gray Award.

The winners, Rebecca Peedle (first prize) and Eleanor Senior (second prize) were awarded their cheques for £1,000 and £500 from Councillor Willie Robertson in front of their French teacher Paul Becher, his assistant Pauline Bourbigot, the school’s principal Sarah Brown and his fellow students.

We were welcomed for a second time by the staff and pupils at the school and are very pleased that Paul Becher encouraged the girls to apply. We greatly appreciate his increased interest and participation in the Perth Branch of our Society.

On Tuesday 14th March 2017, Lucyna Lindsay, Ginette Gervais-MacWilliam represented the Perth Branch of the Franco-Scottish Society during a short ceremony at the Loch Leven Community Campus, for this year’s Alexander Gray Award.

Ben Hood received a cheque for £1,000 from Councillor Willie Robertson in front of his French teacher Paul Becher, the school’s principal Sarah Brown and his fellow students.

We were made to feel very welcome and it was a real pleasure to meet the staff and students at the school. We are especially grateful to Paul Becher, Ben’s French teacher who put forward the names of suitable candidates and in so doing established a link between the Perth Branch of the Franco-Scottish Society and the school.

This year the Alexander Gray award was won by Ewan Rawcliffe from Perth Grammar School. The presentation was made on 26th May 2016 by the Deputy Provost Mr Bob Band in the presence of committee members from the Perth Branch.

This year the Alexander Gray award was shared between two students: Jennifer Gilbert (shown) from Perth College UHI and Anya Brzeski from Crieff High School. The presentation was made on 26th May 2015 by the Provost Liz Grant in the presence of committee members from the Perth Branch.
