A Perth College UHI student has been awarded a grant which will support her learning of the French language.

Erica Stewart ,studying HND Hospitality Management course has flown to the International School of Hotel Management on 12th May for five days. The School is in the French speaking part of Switzerland and she will converse in French during scheduled restaurant and mixology classes.

The grant was awarded to Erica through the Perth branch of the Franco- Scottish Society, a charity which promotes French and Scottish culture and whose members have enjoyed lunches in the college's training restaurant over the years. The funding was secured through Alexander Gray Fund.Alexander Gray was an Aberdeen lawyer and a member of Aberdeen Branch of FSS who left the bulk of his estate in trust to be set up to enable young people learning French to go to French speaking country and pursue their studies.
